Go Inter_fish Project

60 Agriculturist Field School were organized with 6000 beneficiaries 25000 men and women took part in the training sessions on modern agriculture. During 4 years of the project period, 600 women & men were trained on fish cultivation in paddy fields, vegetable cultivation in dividers and homestead gardening. Advocacy program resulted talking up Marketing by 97 beneficiaries, 178 families have established own poultry ad 51 families have taken up Cow Fattening program. 13 CBO Groups have been formed with 447 members. 6 villages have attained 100 Sanitation coverage. Funded by CARE Bangladesh MKSS implemented the program in Sundargonj Upazilla of Gaibandha District, the project completed on March 31.05.

Sanitation Program Under Go Inter-fish:

Out of 140 million people of Bangladesh about 74 million people are still deprived of Sanitation facilities. Due to lack of or insufficient sanitation system, 125 thousand children of less than 5 years of age die every year due to diarrhea. i. e. 342 children every day and for treatment purposes of this disease, the country spends yearly about Taka 5000 million. MKSS is working to change the situation and ensure 100% sanitation in its working area Sundargonj Upazilla of Gaibandha district.
